Be cautious of ZTL in the Piazza Matteotti area of Catanzaro, marked by a red circle, prohibited to non-residents under a fine of 110 euros, and equip yourself with a mandatory reflective sign for any bike rack at the back.
A B license is sufficient for vans up to 3.5 tons departing from Catanzaro, but check for mandatory winter tires on steep roads leading to the Sila National Park in winter.
