Indie Campers is a European rental company that manages over 2,000 vehicles in more than 40 cities throughout Europe, from Catania to Reykjavik and from Malaga to Stockholm, making it one of the market leaders!
The Indie Campers fleet is made up of small and medium-sized vehicles: vans, campervans with and without shower and toilet, and 4- or 5-berth profiles that are less than 3 years old and generally perfectly maintained and cleaned.
Indie Campers offers the popular VW California with automatic transmission.
Indie Campers rentals are insured for all trips in Europe with a maximum deductible of EUR 2,500 per separate damage. As this deductible is quite high, it's a good idea to add the Rental Cover deductible reimbursement insurance offered by Cooldrive.
Third-party liability and Pan-European assistance are included in Indie Campers rental contracts. The security deposit is 2,000 EUR.
The kitchen/dishware kit is included in Indie Campers rentals, which also offer a wide range of comfort options: the bedding kit, of course, but also more unusual items such as surfboards, paddleboards, wetsuits and even folding bikes.

I actually booked this trip before Covid and had to cancel for obvious reasons. I did not receive a refund but was told I would have a credit. When I did rebook it after 2 years, I was told that the offer had expired but they did give me a discount (10%). I shall comment after our trip to get a real idea of the service.

Really a bad camper. Dirty. Ready to go with no diesel and empty water tank. Toilet broken, electric recharging system broken. No GPS, no fridge, kitchen machine on fire. Turning table seats broken. What else? Indi Camper asked me to go fix the electric system at a camper service 30 minutes from Porto. It was closed for vacation. This has never happened in my life all around the world.

A lot of difficulties with our bank cards for the deposit transfer. This made us lose 2 hours. Very little flexibility from the lady who welcomed us; rather arrogant. The contract, signed before Covid, was postponed to April 2022. You increased the price several times without any explanation. First rental of this type of vehicle in a professional context where the rental must take place from France to Canada. Initially, the camper offered online was not available, but a good alternative was quickly provided. The communication regarding the various steps to be taken is clear. The camper was from 2025 and was clean and complete. The pick-up in Norway took longer than expected (4 hours), but in the end, it became a vacation to never forget. Highly recommended!
